UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), a flagship programme of Ministry of
Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, is an opportunity to enable
faculty and students of higher educational institutions to work with the people
of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate
solutions for accelerating sustainable growth of village. Sarada Krishna
Homoeopathic Medical College has voluntarily joined UBS II as a nodal agency to
take part in transformational change in rural development process by adoption
of villages as per the directions of Ministry of AYUSH, letter
No.F.14-42/2017-CCH/28926-2943, dated 09-02-2018. The college has adopted five
panachayat namely Aruvikarai, Ayakkode, Vellancode, Mancode, and Puliyoorsalai
Village Panchayat of Kanniyakuamri District under the UBA for the year 2018-19.
Various programmes
undertaken by the college in the adopted villages are sanitation, solid-liquid
waste management, health education, health care-medical camps, preventive camps
and School Health Education Programme etc. These activities are carried out by
the interns, P.G.s and Faculty, in collaboration with the Department of
Community Medicine and other unit. Dr. N. V. Sugathan,
Principal and Professor , Department of Practice of Medicine , is the Nodal
Officer of the programme.
