TITLE OF THE PRACTICE: DISEASE OUT BREAK INFORMATION TO STUDENTS.

GOAL:

           To knowledge enhancement and development of management of epidemic diseases among students . Thus making the upcoming  homoeopathic community to leverage the principles and legacy of homoeopathy for public health.       

THE CONTEXT :

        Tracking and recording outbreak history, critical decisions on incidence, clinical features mode of transmission, prevention and control measures of current epidemics thus protecting the community from further spread of diseases.

THE PRACTICE :

Community medicine department will collect the news related to current epidemic diseases and mention about the mode of transmission, common signs and symptoms .its management and preventive measures and these are exhibited in the notice board  and also allow the students  to exhibit their collections in the Department notice board.

EVIDENCE OF SUCCESS :

            Those who undergo extra exposure on epidemic diseases can get more knowledge on this diseases and they can become experts in control on and preventing epidemic diseases.

PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED AND RESOURCES REQUIRED :

             Since there is no PG courses in Community medicine considering the Homoeopathic system, effective planning and implementation of field works in the community is incomplete.

 PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Project based learning is an important instructional approach that enable students to acquire academic skills and content knowledge, develop skills necessary for future success and build the personal agency needed to tackle life’s and world’s challenges.

It is the responsibility of higher education institutions to prepare them for a successful future both professionally and personally. This form of active learning in higher education guide the students to develop key skills and abilities such as collaboration, communication, problem solving, confidence and leadership. Students will develop critical thinking, analytical reasoning, team work skills and creativity.

-          Project based learning is essential to fostering skilled, empathetic, confident, experienced students and in turn members of society.

-          Ultimately it is cognitive activity that determines the success of a lesson

-          Like any approach, project based learning is only beneficial when applied  successfully.
