HISTORY

Visions are spontaneous intuitive projections from the deep layers of the Mind, not the calculated creations of conscious thought. They are a 'Blessing', born out of grace, gurutva - the blessing of one's loved ancestors.

This Institution is the vision conferred on Dr. C.K. Mohan by the blessings of his grandfather, the late Dr. Velayudhan Pillai, the eminent Ayurvedic physician of yester years. All these providential factors conspired and converged together in the birth of Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College in 2000 as the fine fruition of Dr. C.K. Mohan's vision.

Situated in a sylvan, serene environs of Kulasekharam in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, the college campus is endowed with a salubrious climate eminently conducive to vigorous intellectual activity.

The cool and comforting breeze gently blowing across the lush green vegetation all around the hillock on which the College stands sharpens the brain and softens the heart of the keen and ardent students and teachers of this Institution.

The College has got the due approval of the Tamil Nadu State Government and the affiliation of the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University besides the recognition of the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi & Dept. of AYUSH, M/o. Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. College started functioning in 2000 as a self-financing institution, being conferred with the minority status (Linguistic Malayalam) by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

The BHMS course spreading over 5 1/2 years with an intake of 50 students was started in 2000-2001. With the passing out of 6 batches of degree students, the intake capacity was enhanced to 100 from the year 2010 - 11.

This was immediately followed by the launching of M.D.(Hom.) course in 4 disciplines viz. Organon of Medicine with Homoeopathic Philosophy, Materia Medica, Practice of Medicine and Paediatrics with 6 students in each. By 2013 another discipline - Repertory - has also been introduced for the M.D. (Hom.) course with an addition of 6 more seats.
