Personality Development Program

Personality development is an ongoing but complex process and it is crucial for the medical educator to recognize the trait and design the training for optimal development of students. Though importance of human personality is widely recognized for functional efficiency of an individual and organization, but its recognition is grossly missing from medical curriculum. The program was designed with an objective to inculcate and impart in the students, a variety of fundamental skills to provide an environment that will extend their strengths, challenge their competencies, and work with their weaknesses. The module includes courses involving communication skills, ethics, working in groups and early patient contact through community visits.

Policy

The Personality Development Programs (PDP)shall function under the guidance, control and supervision of the head of the institution. Function of the PDP is to support the inculcate and impart in the students, a variety of fundamental skills to provide an environment that will extend their strengths, challenge their competencies, and work with their weaknesses.

Objectives

  1. The course has a significant focus on the activities designed to foster collaborative practices, commitment to life-long learning, and aid understanding of ethical, scientific and philosophical principles underlying the practice of Homoeopathic Medicine.
  2. Organizing talks and seminars regarding different job oriented and vocational courses.
  3. Inviting career counsellors to inform students about job prospects of different subjects, Conducting aptitude tests, mock interviews and group discussions.
  4. Arranging personal development programmes.
  5. Encouraging the students to participate UPSC, AIAPGET, NEET, NET, KPSC and other comprehensive TNPSC Examinations.
  6. Organizing career talks and seminars with the help of experts.
  7. Updating the students with latest information on Industry and Economic Trends.
